Age of Colonial Grandfather clock based on serial number

by Bill Hare
(Scottsdale, AZ)

I recently purchased a colonial grandfather clock, triple weight and triple chime, about eight feet tall, probably ash wood.

The clock appears to function fine.

Can you tell the age based on the serial number which is 8000712?

Hi Bill

This sounds like a great clock that you bought.
The fact that the clock has a serial number that hight suggests that it has been produced in the last 20 years.
I suggest you upload some pictures and try and see if there are any labels or stamps anywhere on/inside/behind the clock.
