Chain pulled up without weight

by Ken
(Hudson, Florida)

Is there a way to attach it?

My Father built an Emperor Grandfathers Clock some years ago.

He was both deaf, and developed old age dementia.

The clock fell into disuse during that time.

It was move a few years ago and the weights were detached.

Someone evidently pulled one of the chains pulling it up into the clock without the weight attached.

The screw on the weight is too short to attach it.

Is there any way to get this hook to release?

I have managed to start the clock, but I know it will not work properly without all three weights.

It is the weight on the right side that came unattached.
