Clock chimes 12 times on all times

Why does my clock chime 12 times on all hours.

I have turned back the hands to 12 O Clock and it still chimes 12 at all hours.

I am afraid that you did not give very much to work with.
But it does sound that you would be well advised to go to a professional clockmaker to have the clock mended.
