How To Adjust The Chime on my colonial grandfather clock?

I have a colonial grandfather clock that a friend gave me when he moved.

It runs great, but the hour chime is off by one hour, at 1:00 it chimes twice and so on.

Is there any way to adjust the chime?

Strike off one hour. NEW
by: George's Clock Clinic

You stated at 1:00 strikes twice and is always striking one hour ahead of the present time.
If you have no other problems with your strike side. Then move your hour up one hour to correct the problem. The hour hand only can be move without any damage to the movement. An the hour hand would be short hand. Not the long minute hand.
Should you continue to have this problem again. Contact your local Clocksmith in your area as the strike side of movement is in need of repair.
Hope this take care of your strike problem.
