Turn of the Century Tall Case Colonial Mfg. Clock face

Turn of the Century Tall Case Colonial Mfg. Clock face

I own a turn of the century Colonial grandfather clock which has been in my family for years.

It has a mercury filled pendulum, three chimes,9 tubes and is absolutely beautiful.

The only ID I can find on it are the numbers 1211 stenciled on the back.

CI am considering selling it and am looking for any information I can find.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks.
Fred

answers to questions

The plate on the face says " Colonial Mfg Co. Zeeland, MI." It hasn't been run in the last couple of years, but ran and kept perfect time when it was last used. Probably could use a cleaning and Lube but everything worked. I am unsure of whose movement is in it. I have been told that it could be a Herchede movement.

It came from the home of a very wealthy turn of the century business owner whose daughter was a friend of my grandfather. Reportably he was a poker budy of Henry Ford Who came out to Somerset to relax and play cards in Mr. McCortie's speakeasy during prohibition.

As to asking price. I am having a vewry hard time coming up with a price. What are your thoughts?

Is the clock functioning properly?. What is the movement and
how much are you asking?. What is the small print on the face near the 6 o'clock?

Yes I still have it
by: Fred Hetherwick

Yes I do still have the clock and although I hate to sell it, I will sell it. I really don't have a good place to display it. it is too tall for any place in our home and I would hope to get it in the hands of someone who truly appreciates it.

I don't know when you posted this message.
Do you still have the clock and are you selling it?
