Weight mechanism Sligh grandfather clock

by Bonnie Schmidt
(Sioux Falls, SD)

I have a 3 weight chain driven Sligh grandfather clock.

Only the center weight drops, and I am trying to figure out how to make all 3 weights drop.

Can you explain what I need to do?

Thanks

Hi Bonnie
This means that the clock hands are moving but the chime is not.
The thing to do is to check if the chime lever on the dial is properly centered and over a chime and not in the position that says off.
The next thing you should do is to open the side of your clock and make sure that the chime retard bar has not been put on the chime hammers, because this would mean that the chimes cannot operate.
