Need help to get my pendulum swinging

by Sandy

I just bought an Emperor pendulum clock at a garage sale, brought it home, and the pendulum won't keep swinging!

What do I need to do?

Sandy

Hi Sandy

This sounds like a great clock.
What you should know is that grandfather clocks are very sensitive creatures.
If they are not dead level, then they refuse to do their job properly.
So the first thing you should do is to go work with a spirit level, and with the aid of some wedges make absolutely sure that your clock is level.
Let us know if this takes care of the problem.
