Looking for ideas to finish 2 Grandfather clocks

by Don Campbell
(Wellington, MO)

Retired Ind. Arts teacher here.

I had a former student ask me to finish 2 Grandfather clocks that his grandfather started and never got finished before passing away.

Have figured out the mistake of too large a dial frame and have fixed that part, but I have no idea what the finished piece was to look like.

These were his own design. The one out of walnut,

I have figured out, but the oak one is basically a square case with raised panels on it.

I am in need of ideas for the feet and trim.

I am thinking of some type of split turning up the front sides, but just searching ideas out right now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Don
