Chime Delay

We have an Emperor Grandfather clock and the last note of the chime on the half-hour is delayed.

It will sound at some point before the three quarters of an hour chime.

Any ideas on what needs to be done to fix this problem?

Thanks for any ideas.

Pearl Grandfather clock has same problem
by: Anonymous

Was there a response to this post? I am having the exact same issue with a 1981 Pearl grandfather clock. I can see where the tooth that should push down the hammer to strike the note stops while touching the hammer, but not enough to release it. 13 minutes later the tooth moves forward a hair and it sounds. Its like it stops a click or two too soon.
