movements
by: Chris Berry

Yes, the Herschede company began making clocks using high quality movements from other companies mostly German, but also some french. They stopped doing this after they designed and tested their own movement. I am sorry but I am sketchy about the years. I would expect the changeover happened fairly early in the history of the company though. The bought the cabinetmaker shop first, then developed their own movement. The company history is available on the web.
