I'm trying to identify a recently acquiered Grandfather Clock. It has the following markings (not including quotes):

Engraved on the the rear of the works brass frame plate:
" R. Korfhage
Patnd April 14, 1885
9 "

Engraved on the face:
" T. Kirkpatric
New York "

3. Marked (appears with pencil, lacqured over) on the lower left wooden works mounting frame:
" W 877 "

Does anyone know the the significance of these markings or where I might further query, please?
