Help! Edward Meyer Grandfather Clocks neither one chimes

I reasonly purchased 2 Edward Meyer Grandfather Clocks and love them except neither one chimes.


I have looked and felt and can find nothing blocking them.

On the hour and half hour I can hear both trying to strike.

What Have I done wrong? Any suggestions.

They ship with a Styrofoam block holding the chime rods? Mine did the same after removing the packing materials. The chime hammers were not in line with the chime rods and rods had to be bent slightly.
